Condoling the loss of lives in the Pune chemical plant fire on Monday, PM Narendra Modi announced a Rs2 lakh ex-gratia each for the families of the deceased. A Rs50,000 compensation was also announced for those who were injured in the fire. At least 17 people died in the fire that occurred inside an SVS Aqua Technologies factory.
