Petrol, diesel prices continued to rise on the weekend as prices were hiked for 7th straight day on Saturday. After today price revision, while petrol became 59-61 paise costlier, diesel prices went up by 50-60 paise in major cities across the country. Note that the state-controlled oil marketing companies (OMCs) ended their 82-day pause in rate revision on June 7. 

In the past six days, the pump price of petrol has gone up by Rs 3.90 per litre and that of diesel by nearly Rs 4 a litre. In Delhi, petrol prices today went beyond Rs 75. It was retailing at Rs 75.16 per litre (59 paise hike) as against Rs 74.57 on Friday. Diesel in the National Capital was retailing at Rs 73.39 (58 paise hike) compared to Rs 72.82 a litre yesterday.
