Fuel prices in India are at an all time high. As of today, petrol price is at Rs 84.73 per liter while diesel price is at Rs 72.52 per liter. During the 19 day period prior to Karnataka elections, fuel prices did not increase, but immediately after the election, prices have started to increase every day. To bring an end into this, a petition has been filed in the court, to include petrol and diesel under GST. If petrol is brought under GST whose slabs are 12%, 18% or 28%, prices will be Rs 38, Rs 40 and Rs 43 respectively. And if diesel is brought under 12%, 18% or 28% GST, price will be Rs 31, Rs 33, and Rs 37 respectively.
