Parimal Nathwani, a consecutive two term Rajya Sabha MP representing Jharkhand from 2008 onwards and Senior Group President of Reliance Industries Ltd filed his nominations for Rajya Sabha Election from Andhra Pradesh. After filing his nomination, Nathwani said, “I am committed to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, he will continue his attachment and bond with Jharkhand and its people as he developed a close affinity to it. In view of his vast and intense experience in corporate and public life, he is poised and destined to prove the best bet for development of Andhra Pradesh.”

“YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the young and dynamic Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He is the true leader of the people. YSR Congress won 151 seats out of 175 in the State Assembly election last year. It shows the popularity of Shri Jagan Mohan. He faced lots of difficulty and challenges after the death of his father Shri YS Rajasekhara Reddy. But he has overcome all odds. He has shown huge potential to lead the people. He is capable to provide leadership to not only the people of Andhra Pradesh but also to the nation, particularly South India. With no other young generation leader comparable and competitive enough in sight, Shri Jagan Mohan is surely to be a great force in politics of Andhra Pradesh and South India for a long time to come”, Parimal Nathwani said.

Parimal Nathwani is the person who until recently as Vice President of Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) successfully monitored, supervised and executed the world’s largest stadium at Motera in Ahmedabad, the much talked about venue for ‘Namaste Trump’. The stadium, with a capacity of over one lakh spectators has been constructed from scratch.

Nathwani as a member of various Business Delegations of Government of Gujarat travelled to overa dozen countries including China, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Switzerland, Uganda, Kenya, Astrakhan, etc and participated in Vibrant Gujarat Road shows. This gave him the opportunity to interact with global business leaders.

Nathwani remained vice chairman of Dwarkadheesh Temple Trust in Gujarat for about 15 years. He steered and participated on behalf of Reliance in development of holy town of Dwarka in association with Government of Gujarat. Dwarka in Gujarat is the only holy town of India which finds a place both in ‘Char Dham’ and ‘Saptapuri’ pilgrimage of the world’s most ancient religion Sanatan Dharma.Nathwani is also a Member on Nathdwara Temple Board since more than 9 years. The Board is a supreme managing body for famous Pushti Margi Shrinathji shrine in Rajasthan.

Football in Gujarat got a boost with Nathwani’s election as president of Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) in later half of 2019. He is supporting football activities at grass-root level in Gujarat on a sound footing.

Two term (12 years) Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand, Parimal Nathwani is extremely popular across the board in Ranchi and rural Jharkhand. This is evident from the kind of work he has done. He utilised funds of Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) to almost 100 per cent for Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), rural infrastructure, education, health, sanitation etc. The three model village panchayats Baram-Jaratoli, Chuttu and Barwadag adopted by him under SAGY and development work done there has been not only the talk of the town, but also worth emulating.

‘Gir Lion: Pride of Gujarat’ and ‘Jharkhand Meri Karmabhoomi (Hindi)’; two of his books speak volumes of Nathwani’s capabilities. ‘Adorable and Admirable Parimal Nathwani’, one more book on his substantial contribution to Jharkhand is soon to be launched by the Times of India, Ranchi.
