External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar informed the Lok Sabha that 7,16,662 Indian workers returned from six Gulf nations due to the COVID-19 pandemic under the Vande Bharat Mission. Most of them have now returned in view of economic recovery and relaxation of travel restrictions. The maximum number, 3,30,058, returned from United Arab Emirates, followed by 1,37,900 from Saudi Arabia.
