Over 145 people have died in rain-related incidents since the onset of the monsoon in parts of northern India. Floods and landslides continue to batter the hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, with several tourists stranded. A yellow alert for rain, thunderstorms and lightning is in place in both states for today.
