Gujarat reported yet another highest single-day spike of 1068 new coronavirus cases on Friday, taking the tally to 53,631, the state health department said. This is the Fourth consecutive day that the fresh positive cases have crossed the 1,000 mark. With the death of 26 more COVID-19 patients, the fatalities rose to 2,283, it said.The number of recovered cases rose to 38,830 with 872 more patients getting discharged on Friday, the health department said in a release. The state now has 12,435 active cases, with the condition of 84 patients being critical, it said.
Of these fresh cases, Ahmedabad reported 176 more positive patients in the last 24 hours, total coronavirus cases reaches 25,349. The death toll also rose by 1566 after 3 of the new 26 deaths from the state were recorded in Ahmedabad.
Surat reported 309 more positive patients in the last 24 hours, total coronavirus cases reaches 11,097. The death toll also rose by 341 after 12 of the new 26 deaths from the state were recorded in Surat.
