Gujarat reported yet another highest single-day spike of 1081 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 54,712, the state health department said. This is the Fifth consecutive day that the fresh positive cases have crossed the 1,000 mark. With the death of 22 more COVID-19 patients, the fatalities rose to 2,305, it said.The number of recovered cases rose to 39,612 with 782 more patients getting discharged on Saturday, the health department said in a release. The state now has 12,795 active cases, with the condition of 87 patients being critical, it said.
Of these fresh cases, Ahmedabad reported 180 more positive patients in the last 24 hours, total coronavirus cases reaches 25,529. The death toll also rose by 1573 after 4 of the new 22 deaths from the state were recorded in Ahmedabad.
Surat reported 276 more positive patients in the last 24 hours, total coronavirus cases reaches 11,373. The death toll also rose by 352 after 11 of the new 22 deaths from the state were recorded in Surat.
