The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has announced a delay in the announcement of the 97th annual Oscar nominations, citing the ongoing wildfires in Southern California that have been affecting Los Angeles. The delay also comes with an extension of the voting nominations window.
According to Variety, voting for the nearly 10,000 Academy members, which began on January 8, was initially set to close on January 12. However, the deadline has now been pushed to January 14, with the nominations' announcement now set for January 19.
