Two days before the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha polls, politics over EVMs flared up on Tuesday with the opposition parties approaching the Election Commission over alleged “unsecured” movement of the voting machines in some places while the ruling BJP called the allegations “frivolous” and an “alibi in the face of imminent defeat”.
Leaders of 22 opposition parties met the Election Commission and presented some video clippings alleging “unauthorised” movement of EVMs, as also to demand verification of VVPAT slips before counting of votes on the voting machines.
