Only three countries in the world are completely landlocked by another country. Two of these, the Vatican City and San Marino, are landlocked by Italy. The third, Lesotho, is completely surrounded by South Africa. While the Vatican City has an area of 0.44 square kilometres, San Marino has an area of 61 square kilometres and Lesotho 30,000 square kilometres.
