The WHO, in its weekly epidemiological report, said B.1.617.2 (Delta) is the only strain of COVID-19 first detected in India that remains a variant of concern (VOC). It added that B.1.617.1 (Kappa) has been reclassified as variant of interest (VOI) and will continue to be "monitored regularly". Further, B.1.617.3 is no longer classified as either a VOI or VOC.
