India's skipper Rohit Sharma categorically dismissed retirement speculation, clarifying that his absence from the Sydney Test was solely due to poor batting performance.
During the Lunch Break on Day 2 of the Test, Rohit spoke in detail about the decision making behind his decision and said that he is not playing this Test only because of his poor form and has no immediate plans to retire.
“This is not a decision of retirement. I am not moving away from this game. But I took a decision to step away from this game because I was not able to score runs with the bat”, Rohit said.
