Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday said there are no plans to impose any day- time curfew or lockdown in Gujarat.
The CM said, “Fears of a new lockdown in the state are misplaced. In the past too, when the government relaxed the lockdown, we had made it clear there will be no lockdown, but the government will adopt other measures for Covid-19 control.” He added that Covid-19 cases are not increasing in Gujarat alone, but across the country.

He further said, 'as cases are increasing in Gujarat, we have taken some strict, immediate and timely actions. But no lockdown is going to happen. There's no day-time curfew. Malls and theaters such types of places of gathering are going to remain closed in weekends.

Rupani said, 'The govt has made all preparations, there's no need to panic. However caution is required. All should wear mask, avoid crowding and maintain social distancing. We have only two ways out. One is mask and the other is vaccination.'
He said, 'we will surely come out of this cycle. The government has made proper arrangement for treatment. Earlier we had made ready 60,000 beds. At present, I have ordered to make ready five-times bed compared to present number of cases. There's no need to fear, but one should maintain caution.'
