National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday issued notice to Union environment ministry and governments of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan on whether use of firecrackers be banned from November 7 to 30. The tribunal was hearing a plea seeking action against pollution caused by firecrackers in the National Capital Region at a time when air quality is unsatisfactory.
