A case was registered on Monday against newly-elected MP from Bihar' Purnia Rajesh Ranjan, alias Pappu Yadav, after a businessman accused him of trying to extort money from him.
"Today, people troubled by my growing influence in national and state politics and the growing affection of the common people have hatched disgusting conspiracy against me in Purnia", Pappu Yadav wrote on X.
"We will completely expose this conspiracy hatched by an official and (my) opponents. An impartial investigation should be conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Court and whoever is found guilty should be hanged", he added
