Nepal has become the third country in the world to approve Bharat Biotech's Covaxin for emergency use. The vaccine was found to be 81% effective in an interim analysis of late-stage trial data on some 26,000 people in India. Earlier, Nepal had received over 23 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine from India, including 10 lakh doses as a gift.
