The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks for certain classes will be less expensive starting next year, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan revealed on Tuesday. The Council, which now prints 5 crore textbooks every year, is working to increase capacity to 15 crore starting next year, he added.
The minister also informed that the new textbooks as per the updated curriculum for classes 9-12 will be available from the 2026-27 academic session.
