PM Narendra Modi attacked the Congress party while addressing the rally for the inauguration of the National War Memorial. Without naming the Gandhis, he hit out at the Congress leadership, saying, "From Bofors to Rafale, there is only one family behind the deals. These people are now trying to block the Rafale deal." He added,  "One family only praised themselves in the last few decades." Continuing his attack against the Congress, PM Modi took a dig at the Opposition party, stating that "For some, a family is more important than the forces. We should ask, 'India first or family first?'" 

PM Narendra Modi dedicates the National War Memorial to the nation while remembering the 40 martyrs of the Pulwama attack. "Decades-old wait is finally over. We are dedicating the memorial to thousands of martyrs," he said while inaugurating the war memorial.

"I bow my head to the sacrifice of all those brave soldiers who were martyred in the Pulwama Attack, and all those who put everything on the line daily," PM Modi said. He noted that the government "was taking care of the needs of the country's veterans," he said.

Modi said, "The demand for a National War Memorial has been there for many decades, in the last decade there were one or two attempts but nothing concrete could happen, with the help of your blessing we started the process in 2014."

We are continuously working towards making the Army self-reliant, the decisions which were thought to be impossible earlier have now been made possible," PM said. He added that the NDA government had reformed defence procurements. "Centre is giving preference to 'Make in India' projects. The world today recognises our strength," he said.
