Union minister and senior BJP leader Narayan Rane was on Tuesday detained from Chiplun city in Ratnagiri district over his remarks against Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Earlier today, Rane moved the Bombay High Court against the FIRs lodged against him in Pune, Nashik and Mahad in Raigad over his remarks, and sought an interim order granting him protection from arrest or any coercive action.
A division bench of Justices SS Shinde and NJ Jamadar, however, refused to hear his plea and said mentioning of the petition)was not allowed and asked his lawyer to follow the procedure.
