Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday declared Nagaland a "disturbed area" for six more months till December-end, under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act. The AFSPA was introduced in the north-eastern states to curb insurgency. The central government said that it is of the opinion that the use of armed forces in aid of civil power is necessary there.
