Centre on Monday hiked the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of six rabi crops to encourage farmers to increase their cultivation. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said in Lok Sabha that the MSP of wheat has been hiked by ₹50 per quintal to ₹1,975 per quintal. This comes amid protests by farmers and Opposition parties over farm Bills passed by Parliament.
