As per the new National Education Policy, Master of Philosophy (MPhil) courses will be discontinued. The minimum eligibility for a PhD will now either be a four-year programme with research, or Master's after a three-year programme. Vocational education will be integrated into all schools and higher education institutions in a phased manner over the next decade, the government further announced.
