Union minster Anurag Thakur and BJP MP Parvesh Verma were issued show cause notices on Tuesday by the Election Commission (EC) for their controversial remarks. The Delhi CEO Office on Tuesday submitted reports to the EC on “provocative” language used by Thakur, officials said. Thakur on Monday led the audience of an election meeting in Rithala, Delhi on a chant that said traitors would be shot -- “Desh ke gaddaron ko; goli maro sa**n ko” -- although he himself didn’t utter the second part of the slogan.
