Belgian police have arrested fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi, one of the prime accused in the $2-billion Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud. The request comes as part of the ongoing investigation into his alleged involvement in the Rs 13,000 crore PNB loan fraud case.
The 65-year-old, who has been on the run in connection with the massive Punjab National Bank (PNB) loan fraud, was taken into custody on Saturday (April 12) following a request from India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He is currently lodged in a Belgian jail.
