Tata Trusts is holding a meeting Friday morning to nominate a successor to the late Ratan Tata and most likely to nominate his stepbrother Noel Tata to head the trusts, the philanthropic entities that hold the key to the sprawling Tata empire.
Mehli Mistry, a board trustee for the two main Tata charities, is also poised to get a key position.
Tata Trusts have also considered the option of appointing an interim chairman. The two vice chairmen, Venu Srinivasan and Vijay Singh, are also close to this line.
