The government has declared face masks and hand sanitisers as essential commodities till the end of June under the Essential Commodities Act to control the spread of coronavirus. Earlier, the government warned traders against hoarding and overpricing of these items which are used as precautionary measures against the virus. India has reported at least 81 cases of coronavirus.
