The stock market opened on a strong note on Thursday with both the benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty opening at record highs as the early trend showed the incumbent NDA (National Democratic Alliance) leading in the counting of votes for 2019 Lok Sabha elections, that started 8:00 am today.
The S&P BSE Sensex was trading over 500 points or 1 percent higher at 39,559 while the Nifty50 index was ruling at 11,882.40, up 145 points or 1.23 percent. The index breached the crucial 11,900 level for the first time ever in the opening deals.
