Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh called up Governor of West Bengal Keshari Nath Tripathi: MHA sources.
Singh sought to be apprised of the facts of the unfortunate and unprecedented situation of officers of a Central investigating agency being manhandled, detained, intimidated and obstructed. SG told the court that an unprecedented situation was created in West Bengal. It is said that after Governor report to MHA there can be President’s rule in West Bengal
“Police laid siege of CBI joint director’s home and held him and his family hostage. It required CBI interim Director to make many phone calls before the siege was lifted”
CJI warns West Bengal officials, If the CBI lays a single piece of evidence or any material to show that any authority in WB or any police officer is engaged in tampering with chit fund scam, we will come down so heavily on them that they will regret it, CJI Gogoi said.
