Maharashtra on Sunday reported the state witnessed 974 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the state's COVID-19 death toll to 81,486. Another 34,389 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, a slight drop from 34,848 cases recorded a day ago. Mumbai accounted for 1,544 of the new cases.
