Maharashtra's daily new COVID-19 cases witnessed a surge as the state reported 46,781 new cases on Wednesday, up from 40,956 cases recorded a day ago. Mumbai cases also witnessed a slight increase with the city reporting 2,104 cases, up from the 1,717 cases recorded a day ago. Maharashtra also witnessed 58,805 discharges and 816 deaths in the last 24 hours.
