India witnessed a sudden jump in single-day Covid-19 deaths after it logged 3,998 new coronavirus fatalities in the last 24 hours. The spike came after the Maharashtra government revised its Covid data. On Wednesday, the state added 3,509 new deaths due to Covid, while the rest of the country logged 489 new deaths. With the revised data, the number of total Covid-19 deaths has crossed 4.18 lakh since the beginning of the pandemic.
