The Maharashtra government has asked the state government employees and contractual staff to not wear jeans or t-shirt in the Secretariat and government offices. It has instructed the employees to wear "appropriate" formal clothes so that they appear professional. Last year, the Bihar government had issued a dress code for all its employees, banning casual wear.
