Maharashtra Government has announced a 'Covid-free village' contest in order to boost the local administration in villages to initiate steps to curb the spread of coronavirus. Maharashtra Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif said the first prize will be ₹50 lakh, second ₹25 lakh and third ₹15 lakh. The participating villages will be judged on 22 criteria, he added.
