United States President Donald Trump described India, China and Russia as “filthy” while speaking on the issue of climate change during the final debate with Democratic rival Joe Biden ahead of November 3 presidential election. Comparing the United States with other countries, President Trump said, "Look at China, Russia, India, how filthy it is. The air is filthy." Trump also said he "took us out" of the Paris Accord because it was "so unfair". "We have the cleanest air, the cleanest water and the best carbon emissions," he added.

At the first presidential debate, US President Donald Trump also spoke critically of India, questioning its coronavirus data amid criticism of his handling of the pandemic. The planet has already warmed by around one degree Celsius (34 degrees Fahrenheit) from pre-industrial levels, enough to boost the intensity of deadly heatwaves, droughts and tropical storms. President Trump has pulled the United States out of the Paris climate accord, which aims to cap global warming "well below" two degrees Celsius. "I walked out of the Paris Accord as we had to take out trillions of dollars and we were treated very unfairly," he said in response to a question on climate change.
