Lok Sabha has passed the Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020. PM Narendra Modi said the passage of "historic" bills is a "significant moment" for the sector. "I assure farmers that the system of MSP and government procurement will remain," he added.
