Maharashtra has declared a weekend lockdown in Amravati district owing to rising COVID-19 cases, District Collector Shelesh Naval said. Lockdown in the district will begin at 8 pm on Saturday and will be in place till Monday 7 am. "I request people to follow COVID-19 rules or else we will have to take more strict measures," the District Collector added.
