Youth Congress leaders in Kerala's Kannur slaughtered a cow in public and distributed the cooked meat during one of the beef fests on Sunday. Both the ruling and opposition parties have decided to organise beef fests to protest against the Centre's ban on selling cattle at animal markets for slaughter. A case was later filed against the Youth Congress activists.
