The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert in six districts of Kerala over the next few days. Red alert, denoting extremely heavy rains, has been sounded in Idukki and Kasargod for Sunday.

Extreme rain alert has been sounded in Malappuram, Wayanad, Kozhikode and Kannur for Monday. Orange, yellow alerts have also been sounded for other districts over the next four days.

As per the latest data, four people have died in various rain related tragedies in the last four days. Four fishermen from Neendakara harbour in Kollam district of Kerala have been missing for the last three days.
