The Valapattanam police in Kannur have recorded the arrest of two more people for having suspected ISIS links. The arrested individuals have been identified as Hamsa and Manaf, both hailing from Thalasserry in Kannur. This takes the total arrest toll in the last 24 hrs to five.
Kannur DYSP PP Sadhananthan told India Today that this indeed is a big catch. The first three men were under the police radar ever since they returned from Istanbul, where they are said to have received training. They were deported while trying to get into Syria. Hamsa is believed to be one of the kingpins of ISIS recruitment from Kerala. He had been in Gulf for over 20 years.
