The Karnataka government has decided to ban firecrackers in the state ahead of the Diwali festival. Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa said the government banned firecrackers in the state over Covid-19 fears.“Keeping Covid-19 in mind, crackers have been banned in the state. We have discussed this and taken a decision not allow bursting of fireworks,” Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa said on Friday. With this, Karnataka has joined a list of states that have banned firecrackers before Diwali amid the coronavirus pandemic.
