Former JNU student union president and CPM leader Kanhaiya Kumar is about to join the Congress. Kanhaiya Kumar will join Congress on September 28. Along with Kanhaiya, independent Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani will also join the Congress. The event will now take place on September 28 - on the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh. Mr Mevani  who represents Gujarat's Vadgam constituency - could be made a working president of the party's state unit, sources said.
