Days after he was booked for a contractor's alleged suicide, BJP leader and Karnataka minister KS Eshwarappa handed over his resignation to CM Basavaraj S Bommai on Friday. He said he was resigning "to prevent embarrassment to the BJP". The deceased contractor, Santhosh Patil, claimed Eshwarappa and his aides demanded a 40% commission to clear his nearly ₹4 crore bill.
