Supreme Court judge DY Chandrachud took oath as the 50th Chief Justice of India on Wednesday. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of Office of the Chief Justice of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan. With the oath-taking being complete, Chandrachud become the 50th CHI succeeding Justice UU Lalit who recommended Chandrachud's name. Justice Chandrachud will have a tenure till November 10, 2024. Justice Chandrachud is the second most senior judge of the Supreme Court.
