Japan has started testing the world’s fastest bullet train, capable of reaching speeds as much as 400 kilometers per hour (249 miles per hour). Called the ALFA-X, the train is scheduled to go into service with Japanese rail company JR East in 2030. Once it enters operation sometime around 2030, it will run at a speed of up to 360 kph (224 mph), comfortably making it the world's fastest bullet train.
