IRDAI has extended the timeline for insurers to offer COVID-19-related health policies till March 31, 2022. There are two short-term COVID-19-specific health policies. 'Corona Kavach' is an indemnity-based policy where sum insured ranges from ₹50,000 to ₹2.5 lakh, while 'Corona Rakshak' offers sum insured of ₹50,000 to ₹5 lakh for hospitalisation of at least 72 hours post-diagnosing COVID-19.
