The Maharashtra government on Wednesday appointed senior IPS officer Vivek Phansalkar as the Mumbai Police Commissioner. He will succeed Sanjay Pandey, who is scheduled to retire on June 30 (Thursday). The Maharashtra government had appointed 1986 batch IPS officer Sanjay Pandey as the Mumbai Police Commissioner in March this year.
