The Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) has lifted the ban on the usage of saliva on balls during matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In the captains’ meeting on Thursday, March 20, the majority of IPL teams' captains agreed to the idea of using saliva.
After the Covid-19 pandemic, the International Cricket Council banned the use of saliva, significantly limiting fast bowlers' ability to generate reverse swing—a key weapon in their arsenal.
