As the political and economic upheaval in Sri Lanka worsens, Union Minister S Jaishankar today asserted that there was no refugee crisis at this time. The Indian government, he added, was trying to help the neighbouring country and was providing "all assistance" to the island nation.
"We have been supportive of Sri Lanka...are trying to help and have always been helpful. They are working through their problem. We have to wait and see what happens. There is no refugee crisis right now," the External Affairs Minister said upon his arrival in Kerala.
