India in 2016 surpassed the United States and Brazil to become the country where most Android apps were downloaded globally, according to analytics firm App Annie. India also became the country that spent the most time using Android apps worldwide during the year. Indians downloaded 6.2 billion apps through Google Play, up from 3.6 billion in 2015.
